JK: Superb materials, but a little on the small side

The last school backpack I used was a Patagonia backpack, and I loved it. It was time for me to upgrade because I m starting school again, so I bought the Refugio fitted for women . I am surprised by the quality of the backpack, especially compared to the pack I bought nearly 5 years ago Patagonia has stepped up their game However, I am disappointed by how small a 26L backpack actually is. The main compartment doesn t allow much room for thick binders or books. The laptop pocket barely fits my 13 Macbook Air, which I carry around in a sleeve. I would be worried about the corners of the laptop, since they rub the edge of the backpack. The tablet pocket snugly fits a 9.7 iPad. What I think is going to happen is that I will carry around a 10.5 iPad Pro instead of my Macbook in the laptop pocket, and keep the tablet pocket empty. Also, there are not enough pockets in the accesories area there aren t even pen holders . I do love the water bottle pockets on the sides, though a big improvement from the old Patagonia I had, and it is sooooo difficult to find a backpack with good side pockets nowadays
