Amazon Customer: Outer pocket doesn t have locking zipper, but otherwise very functional and attractive.

First and foremost, if you re considering this bag for the purpose of securing your things while traveling whether abroad or just the next town over you should know that the front zipper pocket does not have a locking zipper. It s fine if you re wearing it as a tote or shoulder crossbody bag, because you can put that side against your body for added security. However, that pocket is wide open for thieves when wearing it as a backpack. It seems like a bit of an oversight on Travelon s part. That outside pocket is actually great storage space but, if you re concerned about theft, you d likely only want to put cheap, easily replaceable things in it chapstick, sunblock, etc. If you plan to use this bag primarily as a backpack and want more secure features, you might be better off getting an actual backpack from Travelon. The main compartment does have the locking zipper, so it s not completely useless as an anti-theft bag when in the backpack configuration just maybe not the top option, depending on your needs.
